Here is a progression of photos showing my Nano Tank from beginning to end. The latest picture is first.

As you can see by the date I have not added any new pictures for a couple months. Basically the Nano tank has been doing just fine. The only new addition I had were some very small zoanthids. I have been battling macro algae growths from my live rock. Due to both personal reasons and starting to stock my big reef I have decided to let the nano tank sit for a bit. I am not very happy with the coloration of my montipora. It goes to prove how difficult it is to keep one under just PC lighting. It has totally encrusted the plug it came attached to so it seem to be growing, just not "up". I do plan on adding some more frags in the next month or so so stay tuned!

In this picture you can see that something is missing...my Lobophytom. One day it just shriveled up and stayed that way for over a week so I decided to pull it from the tank. I have no idea why it died. In addition my Capnella on my upper live rock seems unhappy most of the time. I think it is getting too much light so this weekend I am going to move it down to the bottom of the tank. I also need to start thinking where I want to put my acropora. It seems to be growing and encrusting over the plug down on the bottom like it is so maybe I wont move it yet. And as you can see my Xenia is growing out of control. This picture was even taken after I trimmed a stalk of it. My clownfish seems happy and my peppermint shrimp are getting huge. They have to be 2 inches long now!

Here you can see a couple of things were added since the November 17 picture, namely the baby clownfish - Nero. In addition I added a small frag of star polypls and a frag of Acrapora. I still need to mount it up closer to the surface so it gets more light. It is mainly an experiment to see how it is doing. Lately I have had trouble keeping alkalinity stable for some reason. Have had to really up the dose. Perhaps it is due to the increase corraline growth on the back o fhte thank and now on the powerheads. Also my Xenia ia just growing madly. As soon as the big tank is ready im going to cut it and move some over to it. The wire you see on the left hand side is also a new addition. It is the probe for a pinpoint wireless temperature sensor. I have another sensor in the big tank and they read out on a unit mounted to the stand of the big tank. I will get rid of the other thermometer next week.

Here is the latest picture of my nano tank. The newest addition was the pulsating Xenia. Things are coming along nicely and the peppermint shrimp are being more aggressive and are not hiding as much! Notice how good of a job my cleanup crew is doing! The hair algae that is show on the left hand powerhead in the 10/19/03 photo has been eaten up!

In this image you can see my polyps that my LFS gave me. Also if you look cloose near the fron center of the aquarium you can see the "Cleanup Crew Union" of blue leg hermit crabs that like to camp out there until the lights go off.

I am pretty sure that this picture was taken the night before I added my cleanup crew. For whatever reason the picture does not shoe the purples of my live rock. Maybe there was some die off - I don't know.

This picture shows the ststus of my tank the night after my live sand and live rock was added,

This shows what my tank looked like right after adding 3 lbs of live sand to 7 lbs of CarribSea Aragonite Sand.

This is a picture of my tank when I was performing a leak check on it the day it arrived. You can see that I modified my AquaClear 150 to support adding an IceProbe Chiller.
